Dear Ms. Pope,

Hello, I am an 11th grade student from Rome Free Academy who is currently studying New Deal Art. My class and I are in the process of constructing a website that explains the mural in the Dolgeville, New York post office. This mural, which hasn't gained any national recognition , is important to the people of Dolgeville. The mural "The Underground Railroad" depicts a group of slaves attempting to escape to freedom while staying at the Brockett farm located in Dolgeville, New York. From doing research on this mural I have found that the locals consider this mural a window to the past. It allows them to see their town years before they were born. More importantly, this mural shows local role in the Underground Railroad and we feel the mural and the community of Dolgeville should be considered for recognition on your site.
