REFLECTIONS ON VISUAL INTERPRETATIONS OF ORAL HISTORIES STUDENTS
Answer all of the following questions truthfully and thoughtfully.
1. Student name(s): Gary
2. Period of time selected: 1950's
3. Brief description of project including medium used: Clay sculpture of girl at her desk
in chemistry class.
4. Why did you choose this medium and in a perfect world, what medium would you have chosen?
Because it was easiest for me to use clay and I wanted it in 3 dimensions. In a perfect world,
I would have used a dimensions program on the computer.
5. What do you think are some of the limitations of this project (any aspect)? It has to have a
basis in reality.
6. What do you recommend to other students beginning this project? Think long and hard and then
do it.
7. What would you do differently? I would have made it bigger.
8. What problems did you run into and how did you solve them?
Making her fingers - I made mittens.
Making her face - I left her ugly.
9. Do you think the process was as important as the product for you? Why or why not?
