Usually a trip to the zoo only involves looking at animals as individual organisms, neglecting their connections to a greater system. The seventh grade life science and English classes at Whitesboro Middle School have been working together with scientists from Syracuse University and SUNY ESF, Utica Zoo, and Burnet Park Zoo to create a web site that will display animals as part of a biome... the CyberZoo.

The CyberZoo is only one example of how the Living SchoolBook is researching the use of high end networking technology in high school and middle school settings. The CyberZoo involves many partners including Burnet Park Zoo, Utica Zoo, and the Museum of Science and Technology in Syracuse, NY. Also these Living SchoolBook Partner Schools were involved with the creation of the site: Whitesboro Middle School, Fowler High School, and Rome Free Academy.
