The Budd homestead was built on this site in 1820. The area which the house faced, where we now see many homes, was only wilderness. After the fire, the family rebuilt their home in a new style. It has undergone a number of structural changes since then.

The original Budd Homestead.

This was the house that replaced the one pictured above. It was last owned by the Tehonica family when it finally burned in 1997.

Several yeas ago, students talked with Mrs. Tehonica about her historic home. It is with saddness that we see that fire has claimed it again.
