The Disciples of Christ Church stood on a site near the corner of Church and State Streets. The membership numbered only 60. They were not affiliated with any organized denomination and their services were conducted by laymen of the congregation. The Guyot family was connected with this church. The church never was rebuilt, but in 1912 the congregation purchased the former Free Methodist Church at the corner of Vincent and Madison streets in West Carthage.

This old photo was taken on Church Street, looking toward State Street, with St. James Roman Catholic Church in the background. Some of the ruins pictured were probably of the Disciples of Christ Church (among other buildings).
