Traditionally,
literacy has included mainly text-based documents. Now, there
are a multitude of "new" literacies surfacing -- digital,
computer, information, and visual. The Literacies theme
attempts to broaden the concept of literacy to include the
reading, writing, and understanding of text, images, and sounds.
