This site takes a closer look at the history of New York State by examning chroncled pieces of art. Teachers and students are participating in projects to inform and educate one another about the rich historical and cultural significance in art works of the past.

A Journey through New York Art View a sampling of some of New York's extensive collection of folk art directly from the New York State Historical Association in Cooperstown, NY. The site includes color images of the works, artists' names, dates, brief descriptions and a listing of resources.
The New Deal, Dolgeville Digital Story A recipient of the 1999 Pioneering Partners Foundation Award, this project was recognized for its innovative use of technology and rich knowledge base. A digital story about the Dolgeville Post Office Mural illustrates a compelling tale written, recorded and produced by students from the Rome Free Academy Mixed Chorus.
Rural Cemetery Movement Explore an often overlooked aspect of Rome's history. Dedicated in 1853, the Rome Cemetary was established during the Rural Cemetery Movement , and is an elegant example of a true Victorian "Rural Cemetrey".
RFA Theme Project Learn more about the origins of this Art History Theme, through the timeline of projects, background of the Hudson River School, and the major aspects of Romanticism that influenced artists all over the country.
